  • Motivational enhancement therapy manual: A clinical research guide for therapists treating individuals with alcohol abuse and dependence Volume 2 is developed by the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism. This manual is for health-care professionals interested in learning about how to use Motivational Enhancement Therapy, to evoke change, in an outpatient setting.

  • Using Motivational Interviewing Approaches video, produced by the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario, provides an overview of how to use Motivational Interviewing principles when working with a client who uses substances.  The video demonstrates an initial interview between a client and the nurse and aims to demonstrate how the four processes of MI can be used in an initial assessment.  (insert link to video)
